The project consist of preparation of Detailed Engineering Design of Suni Gad Hydropower Project (11.05 MW), carrying out the construction planning and scheduling and preparation of drawings.
Suni Gad Hydropower Project is a Run-of-River (RoR) type project with installed capacity of 11.05 MW. The project is located in Surma Rural Municipality, Telkot Rural Municipality and Jai Prithivi Municipality of Bajhang district in the Province No.7 of Nepal. Geographically, the project area is located between latitudes 29° 36’ 10” N to 29° 40’ 00” N and longitudes of 81° 11’ 46” E to 81°14’16” E. Geologically the project lies in the lesser Himalaya zone of Far-western Nepal with minimum and maximum elevation between 1400 m amsl and 1770 m amsl along the river thalweg. Most of the headworks components of the project are located at the left bank of the Suni Gad River. The proposed headworks area lies approximately 250 m upstream of the existing suspension bridge over Suni Gad at Surma village. The headworks arrangements consists of diversion weir, gravel trap, approach canal, settling basin, bridge crossing, approach pipe and forebay. The diverted design flow from the headworks will be conveyed to powerhouse by water conveyance system consisting headrace pipe, headrace tunnel, syphon crossing and penstock pipe. The powerhouse is proposed at right bank of Suni Gad River at Telkot Village.
