The project consist of preparation of Detailed Engineering Design of Lower Erkhuwa Khola Hydropower Project (14.15 MW), carry out the construction planning and scheduling and preparation of drawings. The consultant has completed all the assignment as per ToR.

The proposed Lower Erkhuwa Khola Hydropower Project (14.15 MW) is located in Khadananda Municipality of Bhojpur District. The project area can be reached through Kathmandu-Tumlingtar (Sankhuwasabha) road followed by gravel road up to Chewabesi from Tumlingtar. The road from Bhojpur to Majuwabesi  (Powerhouse site) is single lane fair weather earthen track (about 49 km). Lower Erkhuwa Khola Hydropower Project is a run-of-river type of hydropower project and has installed capacity of 14.15 MW with design discharge of 11.20 m3/sec and rated net head of 145.78 m. The project is capable of delivering 79.79 GWh of energy annually to NEA grid at proposed Sitalpati 33kV substation at Shankhuwashabha.

Overall services provided by firm

The scope of services will include, but not be limited to, carrying out the following activities:


  • Review of feasibility study report.

  • Recommend and Supervise additional detailed topographic survey of headwork site, Powerhouse, pipe alignment and access roads wherever deemed necessary.

  • Additional hydrological analysis, and its impact to project components, low flow analysis, food analysis and sediment study.

  • Review of previous geological study, additional surface geological mapping wherever deemed necessary, recommendation/supervision of additional geophysical investigations.

  • Preparation of complete set of tender documents for Civil works (Underground works and Surface works) and Hydro-mechanical works.

  • Bid Evaluation from different bidders and preparation Bid Evaluation report.

  • Detailed Hydraulic Design, Structural Design, preparation of Reinforcement Drawing and Bar Bending Schedule of the project components.

  • Preparation of detail construction schedule.

  • Coordinating for preparing Environment Management Plan (EMP) and Social Management.
