The project involves the preparation of the Feasibility Study Report for the Machha Khola-A Hydropower Project (9.30 MW). The scope of work includes conducting site visits, finalizing the project layout, carrying out topographic surveys, studying alternative layout options, and performing detailed hydrological analysis to determine the project’s design discharge, installed capacity, and power and energy potential. It also includes the preparation of documents required for the desk study, survey license finalization, and connection agreement, as well as the preparation of the Feasibility Study Report in accordance with DoED guidelines. The report comprises detailed feasibility analysis, drawings, construction planning, rate analysis, and quantity and cost estimation for technical and financial evaluation. The Consultant is carrying out all tasks in accordance with the Terms of Reference (ToR).
The proposed Machha Khola – A Hydropower Project (9.30 MW) is located in Dharche Rural Municiplaity of Gorkha District. The project area can be reached through Kathmandu-Laprak Namuna Basti which approx. 187 km followed by 10 km of gravel road from Namuna Basti to proposed powerhouse site. Machan Khola Hydropower Project is a run-of-river type of hydropower project and has installed capacity of 9.50 MW with design discharge of 1.88 m3/sec and rated net head of 630 m. The project is capable of delivering 56.20 GWh of energy annually to NEA grid 33 kV substation at Kerabari Substation at Gorkha District.
