The project consist of preparation of Due Diligence Study of the project for financing with the consortium of banks which is lead by Machhapuchchhre Bank.
The proposed Super Sabha Khola Small Hydropower Project will utilize the flow available in Sabha Khola which is the tributary of the Arun River. The Arun River is later evacuated into one of the main rivers, the Koshi River in Khuwalung. As per the Feasibility Study Report and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the design discharge of the project is 2.3 m3 /s at a probability exceedance of 40% and 41.9%. The diversion weir is located about 2.9 km upstream from the confluence between the Giddhe Khola and Sabha Khola at Wajok village. All the headworks arrangement is located on the left bank of Sabha Khola from where design flow is diverted from the intake-gravel trap to the settling basin via an approach canal of 55 m length. As per the Feasibility Study Drawings, the flow then passes through a 2466 m long 1.1 m diameter headrace pipe up to the surge tank and then via a 368 m long penstock pipe of 1.0 m diameter. The powerhouse is located on the wide plain land below a rocky cliff on the left bank of Sabha Khola at the confluence of Giddhe Khola and Sabha Khola, at Wajok, Sabhapokhari Gaunpalika. The powerhouse consists of 2 units of horizontal axis Pelton turbines to generate 4.1 MW power. As per FSR, the generated energy is proposed to evacuate at Tumlintar Sub-station, Sankhuwasabha via a 19.5 km long 33 kV single circuit Transmission Line.
