The project consist of preparation of Detailed Engineering Design Report, Updated Feasibility Study Report, Tender Documents for Civil, Hydromechanical & Electromechanical Works of Lagan Khola (Brahmayani – A) Hydroelectric Project (9.7 MW), which includes the construction planning and scheduling, preparation of construction & reinforcement drawings, Cost estimation & preparation of BoQ, Structural analysis of project components. The Consultant is carrying out the assignments as per ToR.
The proposed Lagan Khola (Brahmayani–A) Hydroelectric Project (9.7 MW) is situated in Wards 1 and 2 of Jugal Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk District, Bagmati Province, Nepal. The project derives its water supply from the Permasal Khola and Langtang Khola, both of which are perennial, snow-fed rivers originating in the high mountain and mid-hill regions. Access to the project area is available from Kathmandu via an existing all-weather road up to Balephi (approximately 110 km). From Balephi Bazar to Gumba village, the route extends through an earthen road of approximately 40 km. Thereafter, the project site can be reached by undertaking a one-day trek from Gumba village to Chintang Village.
Brahmayani-A Hydroelectric Project is a run-of-river type of project. The installed capacity of the proposed project shall be 9.7 MW corresponding to the design discharge of 2.2 m3/s to be diverted from Lagan Khola. The main components of the projects are Broad Crested Weir, Undersluice, Intake, Gravel Trap, Surface Settling Basin, Headrace Pipe, Headrace Tunnel, Surge Shaft, Penstock, Surface Powerhouse, Tailrace, switchyard & 132 kV Single Circuit Transmission Line and Interconnection facilities required for power evacuation from the project.
