The project consist of preparation of Updated Feasibility Study Report and preparation of tender drawings and tender documents of Lower Erkhuwa Hydropower Project (14.25MW). The consultant has completed all the assignment as per ToR.
The layout of the project lies entirely on the right bank of Lower Erkhuwa River and draws a discharge of 10.29 m3/s. The project envisages the construction of a 3.0 m high weir (from ground level) on the river for diversion of a design discharge of 10.29 m3/s (power discharge) through a surface settling basin and intake into the collection pond. The Collection pond is located below the settling basin, which discharges into a 2524.95 m long (2.7m diameter, inverted d-shape) headrace tunnel (as per DPR). The headrace tunnel connects the collection chamber and surge tank of 6.0 m diameter. The water from the surge tank shall be further conveyed through 2.2 m diameter and 595 m long steel penstock pipe to feed two generating units in surface powerhouse. A gross head of 150.65 m is available at power station, which shall be utilized to generate power of 14.15 MW.
